was 80 degrees . It's too early for me to
start gardening. I usually get a few more
weeks of relaxation in the house before that
starts.
Well a lot of things have been going on with
the web site and with our efforts to record
the history of the 63rd Infantry Division

ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL PEACE
MEETING AT THE CROSS OF THE
JEBSHEIM MILL, JEBSHEIM ,
FRANCE
In my last newsletter I told you about the
change of time for the International Peace
Meeting. Well I'm giving you another
change. The date has been changed to
Sunday 23 Jun 2002.
I found out about this latest change just after
I had made my travel arrangements to attend
the meeting on the original date scheduled.
Fortunately United Airlines changed my
reservations without any charge.
I currently plan on arriving in the Jebsheim
area on 20 Jun 2002 and will stay in
Kaysersberg, France during the time I am in
the area. After the Peace Meeting I plan to
visit several of our WWII battle sites to take
some pictures and meet with one or two
German historians in the area. I am looking
forward to my trip since I haven't been to
that area for over two (2) years. I hope to
see some of you there.

NEW PHOTOS ON THE WEB SITE
Since my last newsletter I have received
several more photos which have been placed
on the three (3) photo sections of the web
site. Today I placed another photo of
Marlene Dietrich posing as she passed
through the Siegfried Line courtesy of the
63rd Infantry Division. That picture appears
on Page 10 of the Pictorial History section.
A special thanks to those of you who have
been sending in photos. Please keep them
coming.
COMBAT BUSINESS CARDS AND
AWARDS CD
Donations are still coming in for the Combat
Business Cards and for the Awards CD I
mentioned in the last issue.
The Awards CD now contains all of the
63rd Infantry Division General Orders,
General Orders from the 253rd, 254th and
255th Infantry Regiments, citations for the
MOH, DSC, PUC and Croix De Guerre
and an alphabetical listing of awards to
division soldiers to include the GO number
and home town of each individual receiving
an award. I also included some rosters and
Special Orders assigning men to the division
in 1943 and 1944..
In the process of scanning the Regimental
General Orders I discovered that in many
cases men of the 254th Infantry Regiment
who were killed in action had not been
awarded the Combat Infantryman or
Combat Medical Badge. So for those cases
I am aware of I have delivered a letter to the
Awards Branch of the Army Personnel
Command requesting that they issue orders
awarding the CIB or CMB as appropriate to
these men who gave their all for their
country. I was advised that my request
would be considered and I would be advised
of their decision.
While discussing this matter with the Action
Officer he showed me his microfiche file of
General Orders from the Division and
Regiments. Unfortunately his copies were
worse than mine . I told him of our CD for
his files. That was made and mailed this
afternoon.
In the process of preparing my letter request
I discovered a number of errors on the
Honor Roll which I have since corrected.
So I ask you to please let me know if you
see any typos or anything else that might be
an error. I will appreciate your assistance.
Also in the process of scanning the General
Orders I found nine(9) more Meritorious
Unit Citation awards for various divisional
service units. These have been added to the
list appearing on the Organization Awards
Page 2 of the web site.
This history thing is a never ending project.
