Issue Number 3 October 2000
All information in this Newsletter is developed by Fred Clinton, Webmaster, 63rd Infantry Division Association and does not necessarily
reflect the views of other individuals and is in no way an Official Publication of the 63rd Infantry Division Association.
Well, from the responses to my last
newsletter it looks like I will use the size 12
font for regular articles.
I suppose the big news for this issue is the
announcement of new reunion dates. So if
you want to check on the next Annual
Association Reunion or new Chapter
Reunions click below and get the details:

MAIL CALL AND BUDDY SEARCH
ENTRIES
If you haven't taken the time to check out
the many inquiries appearing on the Mail
Call and Buddy Search Pages please do
so. So many children of deceased 63rd
Infantry Division veterans are only now
seeking information about their father's
wartime service. This is also true about
other relatives of 63rd Infantry Division
Veterans. We also get a number of inquiries
from 63rd Infantry Division veterans who
only recently discovered that there is a 63rd
Infantry Division Association. Please help
those making inquiries to get the information
they are seeking . To go to the Mail Call
and Buddy Search pages, click on those
subjects above.
THE BATTLE OF JEBSHEIM,
FRANCE
Just when you thought there could never be
any new information written about the Battle
of Jebsheim, France I have come up with an
18 page account prepared by the Citizens of
Jebsheim who were present in the village at
the time of the battle. If you want to see a
savage and devastating battle from a
non-combatant point of view take the time
to read the experiences of these people who
sufferred the ravages of battle,
hand-to-hand combat, fire, cold, snow,
shelling and bombing first-hand.
I am currently attempting to obtain the
photos that were with this narration. As
soon as they are available I will include them
in the proper spot in the narration.

THE 63RD INFANTRY DIVISION
ON OCCUPATION DUTY.
Recently I added some new material to this
section of the web site. For a little humor,
check out the Playbill and Photo concerning
the 253rd Infantry Regiment production of
the Opera "Carmen" . Currently I only have
one photo of that production, but I am
seeking more. The "girls" really looked
good.
I also was fortunate to receive a number of
photos of Company C, 253rd Infantry
Regiment members from James Sonneborn,
C/253rd Infantry. Those photos appear in
this section immediately following the
"Carmen" material.

new items.
Vote! Vote! Vote! Vote!
On the 7th of November 2000, we will
again have the freedom and privilege to
elect our representatives and President. As
you recall over 1000 of our friends and
buddies gave their lives in World War II to
protect our freedom and right to vote for
our national leaders. Please don't let their
deaths be in vain. PLEASE TAKE THE
TIME TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE
ISSUES FACING OUR NATION AND
TO VOTE FOR THE PERSON YOU
THINK WILL BEST MEET YOUR
HOPES FOR THE FUTURE OF OUR
COUNTRY.
I am still actively seeking new photos and
memorabilia images to put on the web site.
An example of memorabilia images would
be the Carmen program and the recent
addition from my files, a copy of the daily
newsletter published on the Saturnia during
our trip to Europe in Nov-Dec 44.(Click
here to take a look at that item)
