Issue Number 57 March 2015
All information in this Newsletter is developed by Fred Clinton, Webmaster, 63rd Infantry Division and does not necessarily reflect the
views of other individuals and is in no way an Official Publication of the 63rd Infantry Division or 63rd Infantry Division Association.
Well---I have good news and bad news.
The good news is that all of the snow and
ice has melted around my house; I have
received a shipment of Challenge Coins;
and I have posted the March 2015 issue
of the Blood and Fire.
The bad news is that the Blood and Fire
is the very last issue.
The final issue of the 63d
Infantry Division Association
publication "The Blood and
Fire".
I have just received the final issue of the
63rd Infantry Division Association's
publication "The Blood and Fire" and it
has been posted on the website for your
review and enjoyment. You can view the
final issue by going to the following

Battle of Buchhof/Stein
Memorial Service and
Historical German-American
Friendship Festival
I invite your attention to page 27 of the
March 2015 Blood and Fire Publication
relating to an invitation from Mr Larry D.
Nichols, Garrison Commander,
International Veterans Association,
Neckarsulm, Germany.
Basically he is inviting veterans of the
Buchhof/Stein battle to attend the 70th
Anniversary Memorial Service and
Historical German-American Friendship
Festival to be held on 12 April 2015.
I believe that any 63d Infantry Division
veteran that fought in that general area
would be welcomed.
If you are interested in attending there
may be complementary hotel
accommodations for those veterans
attending. If you have ever wanted to
return to the battlefields in Germany, here
is a good opportunity.
You can contact Mr Nichols by e-mail at:
larry.nichols@hotmail.de
or me at: joyclint@comcast.net
Challenge Coins are now in stock
and ready to ship:
As mentioned in the last two Internet Newsletters,
the 63rd Infantry Division and the 254th Infantry
Regiment Challenge coins have arrived, are
looking good and are ready to be shipped. All
coins include a plastic case and a small velour
bag.
Details on purchasing the coins can be found at
the following address:

Final closure date of the 63rd
Infantry Division Association.
I have been advised that the target date for
closing the accounts and books for the 63rd
Infantry Division Association is set for the first part
of May 2015.
Details for disposing of remaining funds and other
items can be found in the March 2015 issue of
The Blood and Fire.
This does not mean that you will no longer have a
contact point for memorabilia items and history
information. I will continue to provide website
services and respond to inquiries relating to the
history of the 63rd Infantry Division and obtaining
information to update individual personnel
records for applying for awards and decorations.
And I will continue to accept photographs and
images relating to the 63rd Infantry Division
during World War II. All such photographs and
images will be added to our historical files and
provided to numerous libraries, museums and
offices including European historians.
So dig through those old footlockers and photo
albums and send the photos to me so that they
will be available to historians for years to come.
