the time go?  It seems like only yesterday
that we were celebrating the end of the war
in Europe and contemplating our next
move- probably to fight the war in Japan.
Now here we are, all over 70+ (WWII
vets) and just happy to wake up in the
morning.

I would like to welcome all new members

In this connection I am still trying to figure
out how to send out the newsletter to all
those on the e-mail address list without
showing all of the addresses.  Does anyone
out there know how to do that?  If so
please let me know.  Thanks.

PRESERVING HISTORICAL DATA:

The Division Historian is undertaking a
project to preserve all of the Blood and Fire
Newspapers published in 1943-1945.
These publications are very fragile and
because of that they cannot be viewed or
handled by the members.  I am currently
having these items scanned and placed on a
CD where they can be viewed, printed and
preserved for all to see.  This project should
be completed within the new month or so
and the results will be available for viewing
at the next reunion.

After completion of the project copies of the
CD will be provided to all museums and
WWII research libraries for use by the
general public.
In this connection, I am still trying to find
someone who will lend me a copy of the
Adobe Acrobat 4 or 5 program so that I
can make adjustments to the files as
needed.  The CDs can be read and printed
with an Adobe Acrobat Reader, which I
already have and is free off of the internet
So if anyone out there wants to help me out
with the Adobe Acrobat 4 or 5 program, it
would be really nice.

PHOTOS

I am still seeking photos and memorabilia
images to put on the web site.  Search
through all of that old stuff and see if you
have any WWII photos of the 63rd Infantry
Division at Camp Van Dorn, in action or on
occupation duty.  If you don't come up with
something soon I may be force to put all of
my D Company, 254th Infantry Photos on
the site.

SEE YOU IN JULY AND AT THE
REUNION IN SEPTEMBER.
