All information in this Newsletter is developed by Fred Clinton, Webmaster, 63rd Infantry Division and does not necessarily reflect the
views of other individuals and is in no way an Official Publication of the 63rd Infantry Division or 63rd Infantry Division Association.
Hello to all from the local deep freeze. What
is happening? We were down to 9 degrees
last night and down in the really sunny south
it was in the 20's. Doesn't someone up there
understand that we live in the South in order
to avoid the harsh winter temperatures of our
Northern friends? It sort of reminds me of
the fun that we all had in the Winter of 44-45.
REUNIONS
Make sure that you have marked your
calendar for the August 13-17 Reunion in
Columbus, OH. For details go to Reunions.
ASSOCIATION DUES
For those of you who are members of the
63rd Infantry Division Association it is
"Annual Dues" time again. Please make your
dues payments on time to avoid being
eliminated from the Blood and Fire publication
mailing list. Payment of the $5.00 annual
dues should be mailed to Donna LaCosse,
Association Secretary/Treasurer at the
following address: PO Box 86, Morocco, IN
47963. When paying your dues it wouldn't
hurt to throw in a little extra money to help
defray the expenses involved in publishing
and mailing the Blood and Fire.
Did you know that it cost the 63d Infantry
Division Association $1.06 per copy to remail
the Blood and Fire to a new address and the
Association also must pay $2.63 for each
copy of the Blood and Fire returned because
of wrong addresses.
So, in order to reduce overall costs of mailing
the Blood and Fire and to make sure that you
get your copy on schedule please inform the
Association Secretary or Editor of the Blood
and Fire when you change addresses. You
can contact the Secretary at the following
address: hlacosse@netnitco.net You can
contact the Editor of the Blood and Fire at the
following address: julius63rd@erols.com

Former 253d Infantry Member
purlishes a book about his World
War II experiences
James Thome, formerly of C Company 253d
Infantry Regiment at Camp Van Dorn, MS and L
Company 315th Infantry, 79th Infantry Division
in Europe has written a memoir that takes the
reader back to the dark days of conscription,
induction into the military, basic training and
combat.
I found the book well written and interesting. I
think any member of the Army during WWII
will find that the book brings back many
memories both good and bad.
You can order the book directly from James L.
Thome at 15 Augustine Lane, Fairfield Glade,
TN 38558 or from the publisher at TGrafford
Publishing, Suite 6E, 2333 Government St.
Victoria, BC, Canada V8t 4p4, Telephone toll
free 1-888-232-4444.
Cost of the book is $17.00 plus $2.50 Postage
and handling.
