| This photo shows Pvt. Harry J. Spinks (left front-dancing) and Pvt Robert C Butler (right front playing harmonica) both from E Company 255th Infantry Regiment in the streets of Heidelberg, Germany on or about 31 March 1945. Others in the photo are not identified. The photo appears in a book written by a journalist from Belgium "The Crossing of the Rhine". Pvt Spinks was killed in action on 11 April 1945 near Weissbach, Germany. Pvt Butler was wounded in action on 11 April 1945 near Weissbach , Germany. Photo sent in by Joe M. Fransquet of Belgium. |
