furlough prior to shipping overseas to France with the regiment.  S/Sgt
Mueckler died on 20 February 1945 from wounds he received during
the battle for Jebsheim, France on 1 February 1945.  S/Sgt Mueckler
was promoted to S/Sgt on the day he was wounded.
