| Sample of US Script used in France during WWII. This script was sent home by S/Sgt Ernest Mueckler, I Company 254th Infantry Regiment. He was wounded on 1 February 1945 and died of his wounds on 20 February 1945. Note that the script was received by his family after he was wounded. S/Sgt Mueckler was promoted to S/Sgt on the day that he was wounded. |
