Issue Number 38                                             May 2005
All information in this Newsletter is developed by Fred Clinton, Webmaster, 63rd Infantry Division  and does not necessarily reflect the
views of other individuals and is in no way an Official Publication of the 63rd Infantry Division or 63rd Infantry Division Association.
Spring has sprung, but you wouldn't know it
from the temperatures we have been having
here in the Washington D C area.  On the
wonderful side- trees and flowers are in full
bloom and I am thankful that I am still able to
see all of nature's beauty.

THE BLOOD AND FIRE PUBLICATION:

As many of you already know, the long time
editor of the 63rd Infantry Division
Association publication, The Blood and Fire,
passed away recently.  The Editor, Al Conti,
will be sorely missed for not only his efforts
to produce our periodic publication but for
his efforts in assisting in organizing many
National Reunions and mini-reunions for the
Philadelphia Chapter.

Assuming the duties of Editor was Donna
LaCosse the Association
Secretary-Treasurer, at least on a temporary
basis.  She managed to somehow put
together and publish the May issue of The
Blood and Fire, despite all of her other duties
relating to the 63rd Infantry Division
Association.  We all owe a debt of gratitude
for her efforts on our part.

A new Editor for The Blood and Fire will be
appointed in August when the Association
Executive Council meets at the Kansas City,
MO reunion.

NEW STUFF

PHOTO STAMPS:

A few months ago I had a number of US
Postage Stamps made depicting the 63rd
Infantry Division patch and motto "Blood and
Fire".  These stamps were produced by a
company under contract with the US Postal
Service during a trial period.  Production of
these stamps was discontinued a couple of
months ago and only recently I found out that
production is now underway again.

When I used the 63rd Infantry Division
stamps, several individuals asked where they
could obtain the stamps for their personal
use.  Unfortunately at the time they were no
longer being produced.  Now, since
production is beginning again you too can
have your very own postage stamps, for a
handsome fee.
