Spring is here and I am finally busy working
in the garden, in between chilly and rainy
days.
May will be upon us in a couple of days and
then we can countdown to the formal
dedication ceremonies for the new National
World War II Memorial here in
Washington, D. C.  It should prove to be an
exciting day for those of us who can attend..

NATIONAL REUNION

Time for the National Reunion of the 63rd
Infantry Division Association is fast
approaching.
Check out the details on the
Reunion Page. Don't miss it.

PHOTOGRAPHS:

Yes I am still seeking photographs and
memorabilia images for the historical files of
the 63rd Infantry Division and for the web
site.  Since my last letter I have received
some really great photos and in one case a
wonderful collection of sketches made by
one of the 63rd Infantry Division veterans.
To see all of the more recent photos go to
the last few pages of each photo section;

Pictorial History of the 63rd Infantry
Division in Combat

Occupation Photos

Miscellaneous Photos

Check out those shoe boxes, cigar boxes,
albums, etc make sure your 63rd Infantry
Division photographs are preserved and
made available for all to see.

Send them to me as attachments to e-mail,
along with captions or by regular mail to
Fred Clinton 102 S. Jenkins Street,
Alexandria, VA 22304.  All photos and
memorabilia items received by regular mail
will be processed and returned.

Once processed all images will appear on
this web site, on The Pictorial History of the
63rd Infantry Division CD and on the
History CD of the unit the photo pertains to.

A great way to make sure your photos
never die.

TICKET TO THE DEDICATION OF
THE NATIONAL WORLD WAR II
MEMORIAL- 29 MAY 2004.

Not going to the ceremony because you
couldn't get a ticket for Section 1-M?  Well
I have got the solution for you.  I just
happen to have one (1)  extra WWII
Generation Honoree Ticket to the
Dedication Ceremony on 29 May 2004.
Gates open at 0900, Tribute at 12 P.M and
the Ceremony begins at 2 P.M.

Any 63rd Infantry Division veteran wishing
to attend the dedication ceremony of the
National WWII Memorial  on 29 May
2004 can request the ticket by sending me a
message at joyclint@comcast.net.   Please
include mailing address and full name.  If I
receive more than one request for the ticket
I will have a private drawing to determine
the recipient.  I will notify all requestors of
the outcome.
GOOD NEWS:

During the past few days I have
received several messages from
veterans and families of veterans
advising me that they have received
the medals they applied for using the
instructions on
Page 2 of the Bulletin
Board.

A note of interest is that not only did
they receive the Bronze Star Medals,
but in some cases the Prisoner of
War Medal, The Purple Heart and
the Combat Infantryman Badge..  So
if you or a relative of yours is eligible
for these awards check out the
procedures and make your
applications.

I will alert you to the fact that Mr
Lane of the office that handles these
requests is also very busy with
awards relating to our troops now in
Iraq and Afghanistan, so don't be
alarmed if the procedures seems to
take more time than you would like.
