near Gros Rederching.  This photo was taken in
August 1945.  When used as a position there was
one foot of snow on the ground and soldiers would
take turns in this enclosure to thaw out.
Destroyed American Tank Gros Rederching.
This American made tank was left by the 1st Free
French Bn in Gros Rederching after it was damaged
by the 17th SS Panzer attack in the area.

This position was the 2d Platoon CP, D/255
located under a railroad on the Blies River.  
Occupied for 28 days in the winter of 45.
